Our Company History

Founded in 1982 with just three trailers for rent or lease, Trailer X-Press began as a humble operation with big ambitions. In 1985, Trailer Equipment, Inc. was launched with a small but determined team consisting of one salesman, an office clerk, and a mechanic. By 1989, the company’s growth necessitated a move to a larger facility in Grand Rapids, MI.

Fast forward to 2023, we proudly relocated to a state-of-the-art building in Byron Center, MI, uniting our trailer dealership and rental fleet under one roof. This cutting-edge facility is set to revolutionize the trucking industry, ranking among the largest trailer repair shops in the nation. We're excited to lead the industry into the future and welcome you to be a part of our journey!

Today, our team has grown to over 100 employees across two locations, with 32 trailer service bays in Byron Center and 8 in Westland. Our mobile service fleet has expanded to 15+ trucks, and we offer thousands of trailer parts and supplies to meet every need. With decades of experience and an unwavering commitment to excellence, we’ve become the Midwest’s premier source for all things trailer-related.

We have 30+ trailer service bays, 12+ mobile service trucks, and over 100+ employees that work hard to help you become as efficient as possible. 

Our large parts inventory on hand allows us to meet your demands for you to keep your trailers on the road. Our staff are very knowledgeable in determining the correct parts needed to solve your problems. Largest new and used trailers for sale in West Michigan, averaging 400 to 500 new and used at all times. 

Our rental and leasing availability of over 6,000+ units allows us to be the most diversified in Michigan! 

We have 6 tractors for pick up and delivery of service work, provide shuttle service of your trailers or delivery of rentals.
